About The Lone Crow Farm and sanctuary
At The Lone Crow Farm and Sanctuary, our mission is to provide the community with a hands-on experience with our animals. We host a variety of visit types including species education (learning about farm animals separate from their often commercial lives and situations), school field trips, animal-assisted therapy for youth and adults as well as public farm tours. Using therapeutic and humane educational programs, our animals teach empathy, compassion, trust, leadership, kindness, and forgiveness.
Animals have a healing effect in our lives. They are great mindfulness teachers.

In 2017 Bill and Danielle King bought a small hobby farm in North Yarmouth, Maine giving Danielle the opportunity to fulfill her dream of rescuing miniature donkeys! As the farm found more animals needing a home, Danielle noticed a difference in her ability to stay present, let go of stress and in her self-confidence. She also noticed that when feeling overwhelmed, her kids would spend more time in the barn. Wanting to offer this to their community, as well as share all that caring for over 55 animals has taught them, the Kings worked toward opening a educational and therapeutic sanctuary.
Every morning, when Danielle heads to the barn for the morning chores, a lone crow sits in the tallest tree on the property and caws very loudly. Danielle has always felt that this lone crow wants her and the animals to know that he is there, keeping an eye on them.
